It has been so much fun this week collecting things that would be contenders for my Friday I’m in Love! Our lives and the world we live in are full of such beauty when we start actively looking.
If you live here in the United States and watch any television, you know about the discriminatory legislation that was signed into law by our Governor (and then “amended” yesterday). The outrage, the boycotts, the division between right and left filled the feeds of our social media outlets. I even weighed in here. The following blog post was linked on on Facebook and I thought it spoke Truth more beautifully than any thing else I have read this week.
A Letter to Christians in Indiana, From Jesus

I LOVE the Dimity and Sarah over at Another Mother Runner. They are funny, real, and a full of great resources for all women runners. I followed their training plan to finish my first half marathon in 2013, I listen to their podcasts when I run, and cannot wait for them to come to Indianapolis in May! Their newest book is now available on Amazon (along with their first 2 books as well). As a Friday I’m in Love 2.5- I ordered the book yesterday morning and it was on my door step by 4pm. That’s the benefit of living in a city with an Amazon distribution center.
My oldest daughter turned nine this past weekend. For her birthday party theme, she wanted either Chopped or Property Brothers. Guess who is my mini me?? Since I thought demolition and rehabbing of our house may not be appropriate for a group of 6 girls, we settled on Chopped! It was so much fun!! The girls were creative and “cooked” up some very creative appetizers and desserts with their mystery baskets.
About a month ago, I discovered my newest breakfast addiction. May not look pretty or sound delicious but don’t knock it until you try it! Two slices of Ezekiel toast, “buttered” with avocado topped with eggs and Siracha! Add a cup of coffee and you have a perfect breakfast. For my folks following the 21 Day Fix this would equal 1 yellow, 1 red, and 1/2 blue.
Today is Good Friday. When I was growing up Easter was about the Easter bunny and egg hunts. My husband and I are trying to instill in our children the true meaning of this holy weekend. As parents, I think we all struggle with how to influence our children. How to share what is most important to you with them. There are times we may feel like we are swimming upstream in a society that places value on the Easter bunny more than the miracle of the Resurrection. But when Ava used her birthday gift card to buy some modeling clay and showed me what she created, I felt like we just may be winning.
This week look around your world and find the beautiful things that surround us. Share with me!!
