Since I started this blog (a mere month ago) I thought about a creative way to share some of my favorite things! While trolling around blogosphere, I found Kendra’s blog and decided to join in on her Friday I’m in Love posts. I think it may be a weekly feature here on Small Steps of Change!
Here are the things I’m loving this week-
Abudant Simplicity. This semester my women’s bible study is reading this amazing book by Jan Johnson. I love her style of writing, her concrete ideas that a list maker like myself can follow, and the spirit of her book. I am actively searching for was to bring simplicity to my life. How fitting the last chapter we read was about simplicity and vacationing just when we decided to plan our first (and possibly only) trip to Disney World!
Not too long ago, I was a flavored creamer + artificial sweetener coffee girl. One of my very first small steps towards a whole food based diet was to switch up how I drank my coffee. First to go was Splenda. Then my beloved Coffeemate was traded out for organic half and half. Then Diane introduced me to Kalona Supernatural Organic Half and Half. My coffee will never be the same. There is no need for any sweetener now and this milky goodness is part of my motivation to get out of bed!
Before this week, I really had no idea how to use Twitter. Tweeting felt strange, I wasn’t sure who or who I shouldn’t follow. But this last week, Twitter and I have become good friends. Like good friends who may enter into a long term relationship. Use the icon above to follow Small Steps of Change!
This is Lillie. She is my friend’s daughter and my daughter’s friend- love that! She is also my running mate. I had the honor of running her very first 5K with her. While we ran we talked about pacing and breath control and not comparing yourself to others. She was a rockstar! There are big running accomplishments in this girl’s future. I cannot wait to run beside her or cheer her on from the sidelines. Many, many, many happy miles!!
This. Simply this. My littlest angel. We prayed for God to entrust us with a little girl as our final puzzle piece to this family. For nearly three years we have celebrated answered prayers. Not only am I thankful for Vivi but also for the Christian women who have loved her well in both church and preschool. One of these women has taught her these most precious songs. Vivian sings a little medley of “Jesus Loves Me” and “Mary had a Little Lamb”.
So there you go! My first Friday I’m in Love is in the books. Check out these other bloggers who link up for the FIVE on Friday!
