DSC_4228-2I am called many names. My children call me Mama, Mommy, Mom. My husband calls me Turkey. My best friend calls me Chicken. I am called daughter, sister, wife, friend, child of God.  I have always been draw to health and fitness. My first degree was in Therapeutic Recreation (Go IU) where I dreamed of running a summer camp for children with disabilities.  My experiences at camp led me to pursue my second degree in nursing from Columbia University. I spent 10 years working as a bedside pediatric nurse where I learned about love and loss and the amazing potential of the human body to withstand more than we can imagine. In the spring of 2014, I became a full time stay at home mom to my crew of four. My children are 2,4,6 & 8. I have a thing for even numbers. It is my children who have led me to my truest passion. Wholesome, organic, responsibly sourced food to nourish their tummies and strengthen their minds. To teach them from a young age what a beautiful gifts our bodies are and how we should treat them as such. But this journey from drive through fast food to home cookin’  has been a long one. One that started with small steps. Small steps that eventually added up to miles and miles.

Favorites: Running, Piyo, breathless laughter, coffee, lists

Not-so-favorites: Movies, malls, 2 hour delays

  1. Hi there! It’s Janet Pillsbury from the Carmel Writer’s Club. I so enjoyed meeting you a few months ago and hope we can connect again. I have a friend looking for a mommy blogger to write fitness articles and I thought of you. I’ll pass along your website to her. Her name is Nora Suddeth and her website is http://www.usermark.com. Good luck!
